Rescue hydraulic tools play a key role in various emergency rescue scenarios, helping rescuers break through obstacles and rescue trapped people. However, improper operation will not only affect the rescue efficiency, but may also cause safety accidents. To ensure the safety and smooth progress of rescue work, operators must strictly abide by the following safety precautions for operation.

Inspection and preparation before operation

Equipment integrity inspection: Before using rescue hydraulic tools, carefully check whether the tool appearance is damaged or deformed, and whether the oil pipe has signs of rupture or aging. Pay special attention to key components such as hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and control valves. If any abnormality is found, stop using them immediately and repair or replace them.

Hydraulic oil inspection: Check the liquid level and oil quality of the hydraulic oil. The liquid level should be within the specified range. If it is insufficient, add hydraulic oil that meets the specifications. If the oil is turbid, emulsified or has impurities, the hydraulic oil should be replaced in time to avoid equipment failure due to oil quality problems.

Operation environment assessment: Understand the environmental conditions at the rescue site, such as whether there are flammable and explosive items, narrow spaces, etc. If used in flammable and explosive environments, ensure that the hydraulic tools have explosion-proof properties and avoid sparks during operation; when working in narrow spaces, pay attention to whether the operating space of the tools is sufficient to prevent injuries caused by improper operation.

Safety points during operation

Pressure control: Operate strictly in accordance with the rated pressure of the tool, and it is strictly forbidden to use overpressure. When operating the hydraulic pump, increase the pressure slowly to avoid damage to equipment and personnel caused by excessive pressure in an instant. At the same time, pay close attention to the display of the pressure instrument. Once abnormal pressure fluctuations are found, stop the operation immediately and investigate the cause.

Personnel position: The operator should stand in a safe position to avoid facing the working direction of the tool. When using tools such as hydraulic expanders and shearing pliers, prevent the expanded or cut objects from splashing and injuring people. Other assisting personnel should also keep a safe distance from the operating area and obey the operator's instructions.

Tool use specifications: Correctly select and use hydraulic tools according to the actual needs of the rescue mission. For example, when using a hydraulic jack, make sure that the jack is perpendicular to the support surface to prevent it from slipping; when using a cutting tool, make sure that the cutting part is stable to avoid shaking of objects during cutting, which may cause the tool to lose control.

Maintenance and storage after operation

Equipment cleaning and inspection: After the operation is completed, clean the dirt, debris and oil stains on the surface of the hydraulic tool in time. Check the equipment again for damage or abnormalities. If there are any problems, record them in time and arrange for repairs.

Pressure relief and storage: Completely release the pressure in the hydraulic tool, and then store the tool and oil pipe according to the prescribed method. The oil pipe should be coiled neatly to avoid excessive bending and stored in a dry and ventilated environment to prevent the oil pipe from aging and the tool from rusting.

Regular maintenance: Regularly perform comprehensive maintenance on the rescue hydraulic tools, including replacing wearing parts, checking sealing performance, calibrating pressure gauges, etc. Operate strictly in accordance with the equipment's instruction manual and maintenance requirements to ensure that the tool is always in good working condition.
